We Did It! Over 300,000 Signatures! But we can't stop now!
The Missouri AFL-CIO announced at a Rally held at the IBEW Local 1 Hall in St. Louis on August 8 that just over of 300,000 signatures were collected on the Citizens' Referendum Petition initiative. Not only were there 300,000 (prior to all of the Petitions even being turned in!), ALL EIGHT CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS WERE CERTIFIED! That number is more than 150% of our goal and should be well more than enough to put this measure on the November 2018 ballot for the citizens of Missouri to vote on.
That has never been done before. History was made and it sends a clear and decisive message to Governor Greitens and the Missouri Legisilature that we the people are not in favor of Right to Work in Missouri. On Friday, August 18, we will be escorting the semi-trucks to Jefferson City to deliver and unload all of these Petitions at the Secretary of State's office. Call the Hall by next Tuesday, August 15 and let us know if you'll be joining us.
If you still need to sign, you have until August 11 to do so. You can do so here at the Hall, or any of these locations.
If you'd like to watch the Live Feed of the St. Louis Rally from August 8 where Missouri AFL-CIO President Mike Louis makes the announcement, you can watch it here.
We would like to thank you to each and every one of you who signed and who volunteered countless hours collecting signatures. As you know, our work is not done, as our opposition is going to spend millions, if not billions, to advertise their misleading statements and confuse the voting public. We cannot rest.
WE ARE MISSOURI, WE WILL NOT BE DIVIDED.
